5 Chic Ways to Wear a Scarf
Guest Blogger
Sure, you could just fling a scarf around your neck and dart out the door. But why not spend a few extra seconds fashioning the fabric into one of these stylish looks?
Buckaroo Knot
For boardroom cool, this is one of your best bets when paired with a crisp collared shirt. Center the scarf on the front of your neck so that the ends are hanging over your back. Crisscross the ends to wrap them around so that they meet back in the front center. Tie a simple knot and let the ends hang loosely.
Square off
Start with a large square scarf and fold over to form a triangle. With the middle point of the triangle facing down, rest the scarf across your chest, tie the two ends around your neck and secure with a simple knot. Arrange the scarf slightly off-center and pair it with chandelier earrings for a boho-chic look.
Sweeping Belt
To complement a pair of solid-colored slacks or a pencil skirt, tie your scarf around your waist through the belt loops and complete the knot off-center so that the two ends fall loosely to the center of one thigh. This works best with a lighter-weight scarf.
Do the Twist
To add texture to a solid-colored lightweight scarf, twist it to create a loose rope. Loop the rope around your neck and tie a simple knot on one side. Try some stylish, bright gloves to balance this style.
Go
Wide
Adopt a European look with an extra-wide scarf (at least 1 foot wide). Begin by
centering the scarf around the back of your neck with the ends hanging loosely
over the front of your shoulders. Grab the ends and crisscross loosely across
your chest, letting the folds hang down to mid-chest level. Tuck the ends into
the fabric folds just behind your neck and voila!
